Indiana Rejects/Cancels Voter Registration for More than 60% of Flagged Immigrant Hoosiers

House Enrolled Act 1680 requires county voter registration officials to request proof of citizenship from everyone who uses a temporary credential number when registering to vote. Officials identified 3,234 people to verify proof of citizenship. This number includes pending voter registration applications as well as existing voters. Those who receive notices have 30 days to provide proof of citizenship.

This story appeared in the June 9th edition of the Indiana Capital Chronicle.

Call Governor Braun to Oppose USPS Rule Change Threatening Mail-in Ballots

On June 2, 2026, the U.S. Postal Service, in response to an Executive Order from President Trump, proposed a rule to allow the federal government to control who can cast a mail-in or absentee ballot. The rule would require states to send USPS a list of every voter slated to receive a ballot by mail. The USPS could then refuse to deliver ballots to any voters whose names do not appear on states' pre-approved lists.

This rule threatens to disenfranchise voters who rely on mailed ballots to participate in elections, including rural residents, citizens living abroad, and people with disabilities.

Per the U.S. Constitution, states control their own election processes.

Here's Your Script

"Hi, my name is [NAME], and I am a resident of Fishers, IN. My address is [ADDRESS]. I am calling to urge Governor Braun to protect our state's control over elections and right to vote by mail. The recent proposed USPS rule would allow the federal government to block eligible voters from receiving and casting ballots and must not take effect. Thank you for your time and consideration."
