ACLU Is Tracking How Elected Officials Are Voting on Key Legislation
According to the ACLU scorecard, U.S. Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-5) had only 2 of 21 votes align with ACLU positions. This gives her a rating of only 9%. While not surprising, this is a really telling number.

"Housing Rocks" Display Tells Stories of Home
Hamilton County Area Neighborhood Development (HAND), a nonprofit that focuses on affordable housing solutions, created a new initiative to call attention to the issue of affordable housing in the county. "Housing Rocks" is a temporary display of brightly colored rocks currently on display in front of the Hamilton East Public Library in Fishers.
Volunteers throughout the community were asked to think about what home means to them and to paint that thought on a rock. The creativity and the messaging is truly something to see.
According to a 2026 United Way report, 34,764 Hamilton County households live below the ALICE threshold or in poverty. ALICE stands for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed. This group encompasses households with working adults who earn too much to qualify for many forms of assistance but struggle to afford housing, childcare, food, transportation, and healthcare.
