Indiana Pushing For Further Restrictions on Abortion Access
The US Supreme Court indefinitely extended a freeze on further restrictions to the widely used abortion drug mifepristone while legal fights play out.
Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita has requested that the EPA add this drug to the Contaminant Candidate List, which could lead to significant restrictions on drug distribution under the Safe Water Act.
There is little evidence that the drug poses a water safety issue.

Proposed Childcare Changes for Licensed Providers Could Threaten Quality of Care
Proposed changes would:
Decrease education requirements for providers
Increase caregiver-to-child ratios
The Office of Early Childhood and Out-of-School Learning (under FSSA) and Governor Braun believe that these proposed rule changes will make childcare more affordable, increase the number of providers, and align Indiana's childcare regulations to "widely accepted national industry standards."
These proposed rule changes are open for public comment through July 6.
Please email FSSA using the email address below and reference LSA Document # 26-158.

"Hi, my name is [NAME], and I am a resident of Fishers, IN. My address is [ADDRESS]. I am concerned that the proposed changes to Indiana childcare rules will endanger the quality of care our children will receive. The argument that these new rules will align our childcare regulations to the national standard implies that we are decreasing our quality standards because 'everyone else is doing it.' Lowering provider-to-child ratios and decreasing provider education/training requirements pose significant risks to our kids. Our children deserve more from us."
