Two To-Do Tuesday: Congressional Oaths and Post Primary Plans

Two To-Do Tuesday: Congressional Oaths and Post Primary Plans

Action Items

Hold Congress Accountable for their Oath

Members of Congress take an oath to support and defend the US Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and domestic. They pledge allegiance to the Constitution, not a party and not the President. Let's remind them of that oath!

Here's Your Script

"Hi, my name is [insert], and I'm a constituent from Fishers living at [address]. I'm calling to demand that [legislator's name] uphold their Constitutional Oath to defend the Constitution. The war on Iran has not been sanctioned by Congress. Trump's ballroom and other vanity projects are not for the benefit of the American people. Federal contracts awarded to Trump's family members are increasing their wealth at the expense of the American taxpayers. These actions are clearly unconstitutional and a direct attack on democracy. Please uphold your oath to defend democracy."

Time to Decompress - For a Minute

The May primary was a huge success with more Fishers and Hamilton County Democrats exercising their right to vote in record numbers. Thank you for supporting candidates, hitting the streets, and participating in all the activities leading up to the election.

Take a deep breath, pat yourself on the back, and celebrate our successful primary season and reflect on what you did for the primary election. What would you like to do to support the midterm election? Think about reaching out to specific candidates about joining their campaign, writing postcards, or donating to support Democratic candidates. We still have work to do!

"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." - Martin Luther King, Jr.

The November election MATTERS.
