CARMEL
With a highly active Carmel City Committee, Carmel Democrats have achieved significant advancements in the city. Through common-sense solutions that benefit everyone, we are making substantial progress in Carmel. The outdated notion that there are no Democrats in Carmel or that winning here is impossible is simply no longer accurate.
In 2018, JD Ford secured victory in the State Senate District 29 election, representing parts of Indianapolis, Zionsville, and Carmel. In 2019, Carmel elected its first Democratic City Council Member, Miles Nelson. The seat is still held by Democrats with election Dr. Anita Joshi in 2023. In 2020, Joe Biden won Carmel by 2.5%. Additionally, in 2022, Democrat Victoria Garcia Wilburn won election to the newly created State House District 32, while JD Ford secured re-election.
Join Carmel Democrats this year, there's plenty of work to do!
