State Senate - S29
My name is Kristina Moorhead, and I'm running for Indiana State Senate District 29 because I believe government works best when it listens to—and understands—the people it serves. I didn't set out to work in politics, but a debate tournament at Ball State unexpectedly sparked a lifelong passion for public policy and its power to shape real lives. After earning my Master's in Public Affairs from Indiana University-Indianapolis I went on to serve in state government, including as Deputy Director of the Indiana Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning. Over the years, I've worked on health policy in 23 states — inside government, with AARP, in the private sector, and as a consultant — giving me a clear view of what works, what doesn't, and how decisions at the Statehouse affect families every day. I'm a lifelong Hoosier who grew up on the eastside of Indianapolis and in New Palestine, raised by parents who taught me the value of community, hard work, and showing up for others. Today, I'm a wife and mom of three - a sixth grader in Carmel public schools, a preschooler and a four month old. On the weekends you can find me cheering from the sidelines, coaching youth sports, or in the kitchen testing recipes — especially if there's a chance to defend my 2025 Indiana State Fair Grand Champion bourbon butterscotch pie. I'm running for State Senate to bring common sense, compassion, and real-world experience to the decisions that shape our future. Indiana deserves leaders who know this state, love it, and are ready to do the work—and I'd be honored to earn your trust and your vote.
